The Team Hawkes-trained Divine Prophet remains an outright $2.30 favourite in 2016 Stan Fox Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Impending ($2.70) and Good Standing ($6.50).

Will Divine Prophet justify favouritism and win the 2016 Stan Fox Stakes, or will one of his talented rivals post an upset?

1st

Impending ($2.70)

Godolphin runner Impending has returned to racing in typically slick form this time and appears as though he will relish a step up to 1500m in the Stan Fox Stakes on Saturday. Winning a Rosehill minor over 1100m on debut before placing third in the Group 3 Ken Russell Memorial Plate (1200m) in autumn and early winter, the Lonhro colt resumed this time for third in the Group 2 The Run To The Rose (1400m) before again finishing third in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) last time out. James McDonald should find a good position away from problems from barrier 5 and Impending should prove extremely hard to beat under the conditions of the race.

2nd

Divine Prophet ($2.30)

Divine Prophet has taken plenty of benefit from his two starts this time and will leave from barrier 4 with Christian Reith in the saddle on Saturday. Capping a debut preparation in autumn a credible third in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m), the Choisir colt resumed this time for a dominant win in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m) before running on for fourth in the Golden Rose last time out. Divine Prophet should get a great trail into the race and will be right in the finish of the Stan Fox Stakes.

3rd

Thronum ($13)

Thronum failed to fire in the Golden Rose last time out, but should enjoy a step back in class and step up in distance in the Stan Fox Stakes. Winning is first two starts with ease upon debuting to racing in June, Thronum broke through for a maiden black type win in the Listed The Rosebud (1200m) before running third in the Up And Coming Stakes on August 20th. Tye Angland will take the ride on the Snitzel colt from barrier 3.
