2010 Stan Fox Stakes Race Announcement & Early Preview

August 25th, 2010

This year at one of the closing Sydney Spring Racing Carnival meetings on Saturday September 25, the 2010 Stan Fox Stakes will take place as part of a bumper day of racing at the Royal Randwick Racecourse.

The $150,000 Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) is one of four quality group races conducted on George Main Stakes Day.

Punters that enjoy a bet on the races have a top class variety of events to bet on at the meeting including the marquee race, the $300,000 Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) as well as the Group 3 Colin Stephen Quality (2400m) and the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m).

When making your betting selections for the 2010 Stan Fox Stakes, looking at the high performing three-year-olds in earlier races at the carnival is an excellent tip.

Good lead-up races that horses on way to the Stan Fox Stakes may previously contest include the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (100m), Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) and the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m).

The 2010 San Domenico Stakes was run on August 7 and won by Obsequious ahead of Solar Charged and Decision Time, while the 2010 Golden Rose will take place on August 28 and the 2010 Gloaming Stakes follows on September 18, the week before the Stan Fox Stakes.

Other classy three-year-olds with the Stan Fox Stakes on their spring agenda include the Graham Begg-trained colt Ilovethiscity and the Hinchinbrook who is due to resume racing in the Golden Rose.

Nominations for the 2010 Stan Fox Stakes close on Monday September 20 followed by the final field of acceptances on Wednesday September 22.

We will be the first to publish the list of horses both entered for and then due to start in the race, so bookmark this page.
